Some enginey bits for the FRS. So valve springs are here, which means cams are coming soon, and that means POWAH!!! Also, I hope my car sounds like this. . .

mmmmm.... staying N/A or is there a turbo in the works?

Probably going to be staying NA. If anything I will probably supercharge it down the line(6 or so years). I don't know why, but I hate messing with the induction of the factory set up. I can change everything except the breathing. Also, I don't like lag.

What kind of software is there to tune it with?

Oh god, I need that noise.

Nice nice. What's the plan? High comp? High rev? Or do cams do a bit on their own? I thought these bad boys were already cammed pretty hard to get the 100 hp/l they have.

I am not sure. There are a bunch of different software(is that right. . . or is it hardware) though, so someone will come out with something soon, if there hasn't been one yet

Those downshifts brought a tear to my penis.

Why do they keep coming out with new parts?!?! I thought I could take it easy and stop after I get my headers exhaust intake & tune done, well looks like that plan is shot. I'd love to get a 9-10K rpm build on this engine.

It already has a pretty high compression ratio, 12.5:1 I think. So I will probably raise the redline, but I will see. . . first let other people try it out and see what happens and what the best route is.
The 100hp/l is thanks to the DI system, otherwise it was a pretty poor engine(160hp without it) so I am sure cams will help this one a lot.

They know we will fall to their whim and buy it
There are some videos of people with turbos doing 8K+ with the car. So I am sure it is possible with a few internal parts. 9k maybe, 10K. . . that might be pushing it. I would say 8,500 is a nice goal. Plus it will sound great!

Holy shit! A shakedown lap of 1:01.872 on Tsukuba is ridiculously fast! Then to shave more than a second off of that. That is one bad ass car. It sounds so mean while flat shifting.
One day I will get to drive Tsukuba and not just in GT5. . .

I think the fastest lap around Tsukuba is around a 1:00 in a Radical. So the 86 is one seriuos machine! Granted this is a purpose built race car, but the chassis is basically the same.

Old article but since the Griffin doesn't belong with street cars, this S15 lapped it in 52.649 seconds. Regardless breaking the minute barrier on Tsukuba is downright impressive.
Almost a year old, wonder if it has been broken?

Found a video , don't think it will embed though.

I think a supercharger would suit the car more than a turbo. It would help with low-end torque, something that motor really lacks.

I found it on youtube, and holy shit. That felt fast and I am nearly an ocean across from where that happened.

Blame the DI for the lack of torque(at least the torque dip). I might do supercharging in the future, if this car is still in my possession(which is entirely possibly) and it isn't my daily driver. It is really fast with a supercharger though. Like 4.5 seconds to 60 with 300 hp.

I think what impresses me most is the fact that it is done on road legal tires. Well aside from that SR20 noise of fury blasting out that huge fart cannon.

Its sounds turbocharged to hell. Sounds amazing!
